Melanie & Louie

Being a photographer in a beach town means that I don’t get to meet a lot of my couples in person until the day of their weddings, but this wedding I was lucky enough to get to spend a little time with Melanie and Louie leading up to their wedding and I am so, so glad I did! As soon as I met them I knew this was going to be a favorite to capture. They are both so laid back and open minded, and welcomed me right in like I was a guest.

Friday night I captured a little of their rehearsal dinner at Steamer’s Seafood, where friends and family from out of town came together to get acquainted and share a few drinks and some local food. In order to really enjoy the beach and all that Chincoteague has to offer, Melanie and Louie opted for an early wedding the next day. Complete with the perfect June weather, a balloon filled venue, TONS of pie, and an amazing brunch their day was nothing short of perfect.

As for Melanie and Louie themselves, I don’t think I can put into words the amount of love and respect they have for each other. A lot of times couples are busy trying to fulfill their hosting duties and don’t have much time to just be one with each other, but it was clear that Melanie and Louie were there solely for each other all day. During their welcoming speeches Louie stated how lucky he was to be marrying “the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen”, and I think he was absolutely right. Melanie radiated in effortless, natural beauty and was a dream to photograph.

I may have gone a little photo happy on this post, but I can’t help it with these two! Here are a few (ok, a bunch) of my favorites:
