In case you haven’t noticed, I may or may not be just the smallest bit biased towards twins.  And an even bigger love for twin parents (solidarity, right?!).  So you can imagine how crazy excited I was to hear that Amanda and Tony were bringing their two new little girls down to Chincoteague and wanted some pictures.  It’s always so awesome to reunite with past couples and photograph them from weddings to new families.  And these two sweet little girls were the best. Seriously, so sweet-to the point that if I didn’t already have too many children I’d be all “Mike…more please…” But for real, I’m so happy for this new family and am so excited for the crazy love-filled life that’s coming their way.

Photographing seniors is quickly becoming one of my favorites.  It is so cool spending time with these young women, full of energy and optimism, and Jessie was no exception.  There are a ton of things that made this session awesome (um cotton candy sunset, vintage VW van?), but first let’s talk about those big brown eyes. As a fellow brown eyed lady I can’t help but have a little bias there, but seriously how gorgeous are they? Second, she spotted some pretty awesome walls and colors that really fit her personality and that I totally love.  AND she let me drag her into possibly the grossest muck, filled with all kinds of creatures, without a single complaint, which makes her the best.

I met Hope this past week to commemorate one of the bigger events in any ladies life, the end of traditional schooling and her entrance into the “real” world (I hate that term, I mean what kind of world is it if it’s not always real? But you get the point). I drug her literally through waves and bugs for her session (real world prep, right?) and she was the absolute best sport. She is not only beautiful externally, but she has a sweet, intelligent soul and it’s very clear that whatever she decides to do she will excel at it, and I wish her nothing but the best.

Hey there!  It’s been a long, long time since I posted anything personal on here (I know, I’m slacking).  Life has been pretty interesting around here with twin toddlers and life in general, and as if we weren’t already in completely over our heads we decided to add one final member to the family this summer!  The boys are pretty nonplussed about the whole situation; I guess to twins having a new sibling is nothing new.  But we are pretty ecstatic

Having only knowledge of twin pregnancy has made this time around seem like the first.  Which in most manners is pretty cool and totally weird.  With the boys I had just about every pregnancy symptom imaginable due to the huge surge of hormones, and by 26 weeks I looked and felt like I was full term.  This time around I feel absolutely tiny in comparison to pictures from the boys (I know it’s just one but I had prepped myself for the whole “everything stretches easier the second time” idea, and fully expected to start showing much earlier than close to 20 weeks).  And with the exception of some pretty stubborn morning sickness I feel good, at least as good as anyone who is rapidly putting on weight while chasing two mini tornadoes around all day can feel.

Anyway, enough small talk and down to the real point of this post.  With Baby 3 due in July I’ve had to make some big adjustments to my summer scheduling as far as weddings and lifestyle sessions are concerned.  I will be on official maternity leave from early July through mid September, and have limited the amount of sessions I’ll be accepting in June to ensure that I can keep up with my workload before then.  For anyone who has already booked, no worries you’re set.  I have also left a small amount of sessions open for recurring clients in that June-July window, so if we meet every year please check in!  If you’re a new client (thanks for checking my work out by the way!) I currently am only booking for a few dates in May, the first week of June, and anything post-September 22nd.

I’m so sorry for any inconvenience and to those of you who I either won’t have the pleasure of meeting this year or the opportunity to catch up with I hope to cross paths again!

Though Hurricane Matthew did it’s best to keep us from this session, I was finally able to meet up with Marra, Coco, and Louis this past weekend to capture a few shots of them in all of their sibling and cousin cuteness. We made our best attempt to play at the beach, but the wind had other plans and we ended up retreating back home for most of the session (these kids were such troopers!) I love how fun and silly these guys are. So much life! Here are a few favorites of these little sweethearts.

I had such a wonderful time capturing the Siket Family this past week. The love between the four of them is palpable, and their energy contagious. There is something so sweet in witnessing a mother and father’s love for their children, and this session left me inspired to live every moment with my kids to the fullest. As the summer sessions start to wind down I am so excited to be able to catch up with some of our local family and friends to capture their memories. The Young Family has been like a family to my husband for longer than he can recall, and Donna and George welcomed me in with loving arms the moment I met them (and with a hot meal, which is always a deal maker to a starving college girl!).  This family is truly beautiful, inside and out, and I’ve loved watching the littlest member, Jaxon, grow over the past few years.  Here are a few favorites from our evening together:

It is so neat to be able to capture families growing and changing over the years. From Brody’s infectious, tiny smile to Ashley and Derek’s wedding, to Caleb turning this family into a family of four, it has been an absolute joy.  As always I had a lot of favorites from our evening on the beach, but here are just a few!

Liuba and Richard, along with their beautiful family, celebrated 50 years of marriage this past week and I was honored to snap a few shots of them all together in commemoration. We were graced with an absolutely stunning sunset and took full advantage with a stop at the light house before heading to the ocean.
