Scotland

Scotland2018_0018

Mike and I visited Scotland a year and a half ago and were instantly in love with the culture and amazing landscape.  Apparently we had nothing but great things to say about it because my parents decided it would be a perfect place for our family vacation this year!  This was the first family vacation for us in probably close to 10 years (?) and we were more than thrilled to be returning to Scotland, this time with my parents and sister to share it with.  Oh, and those three little boys of ours :).  This was their first time out of the country and their first flights, and they totally nailed it.  I had no doubt they would (*cough cough*). But seriously, they were amazing and I’m so glad I got to share something this amazing with them.  Now all they want to do is climb mountains and I am totally onboard with that.

Anyway, I rarely put personal posts on here so I thought I’d share a little bit of our album.  Enjoy!

The boys are always begging to climb “big mountains”, so naturally we had to pull over as soon as we entered the Highlands.

The Lost Valley.  We just drove by here last time and I swore if we ever made it back I was hiking here.  With three kids the hike was more of a mild stroll, but I am a happy lady.

Quin was thrilled about his free ride up the mountain.

The boys had three requests for this trip. First, eat shortbread cookies
(duh. I already planned on that being the staple of my diet here so done and done). Second, climb big mountains. And third, throw rocks in water.  Men of simple pleasures.

Quite literally searching for Nessie. Or Sophie, as they call her. They are on a nickname basis with the Loch Ness Monster apparently.

We ended our trip in Edinburgh and still managed to fit in some mountain climbing. Because request number 2. Don’t worry, request number 1 was met a thousand times over 🙂

Until next time, Scotland…
FYI, our planning and itinerary was executed by my awesome sister, Megan, of Reverie and Ramble.  She is a genius at all things travel and coordination, so check her out if you’re in the market for a really unique, all encompassing, off the beaten path adventure (she found us a legit Speak Easy in the heart of Edinburgh, hidden entrance and all. Just saying…girl is good).
