Steph and John’s road to this day was one full of overwhelming patiences and love. Unlike most people, they didn’t have the novelty of being to be married whenever they pleased. While John grew up in the United States, Steph spent her life in Ireland, which meant that they had to partake in all of the bureaucratic red tape involved in an international marriage. Three years of waiting later, they were finally granted the permissions they needed and were married this past Monday in a simple ceremony on Assateague Island, a place very special to Steph’s heart.  The amount of love and patience it took to persevere through such a trying time and to not lose faith is beyond inspiring. They are both such kind hearted people and I was honored to be able to capture such an intimate, special ceremony.

To me, this wasn’t just a marriage of two people, but of six-Norm, Matt, Haiden, Shabi, Xavier, and Cooper. It was so sweet to see them all together and to see all of the love they have for each other. I absolutely adored all of the little touches Norm and Matt put in to their wedding that showed both their and their children’s personalities (there was even an ice cream truck appearance! How awesome is that?!). I’ll apologize in advance for how photo-heavy this post is, but every image from the day just radiated love and joy and I couldn’t bring myself to cut it down any further! So without further ado, here’s a little glimpse into Norm and Matt’s love-filled wedding day…

I’m so excited that I got to be a part of this awesome family’s first trip to Chincoteague this past week.  The Jones family is such a sweet, fun family and I loved getting to know them and capturing a little bit of their personalities.  It was about 500 degrees that day but they were all such good sports;  I don’t know how they did it, but they managed to look cool and calm through the entire session (I personally was a melted mess within the first 10 minutes).  Just from the few preliminary discussions I had with Toni, I could tell that they were going to be a great family to work with.  They all have such open, beautiful personalities and I feel like they all let their true souls shine through in each image.  Here are a few of my favorites:

I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to capture Norm and Matt’s wedding this upcoming August in Chincoteague, VA.  Over the Memorial Day holiday I met up with Norm, Matt, and there 4 awesome kids to get a few engagement shots and to get to know them a little more as a couple.  I can honestly say that in the little bit of time we spent together, this family had me completely smitten.  Where to even begin…First, Norm and Matt are literally the coolest parents I’ve ever met.  Hands down.  They both have such an easy going, light hearted nature about them that translates not only into their parenting style, but into their relationship as well.  I loved seeing how easily Matt could light up Norm’s face with just a few little words. Every image from the day was full of such honest personality and genuine happiness.  And those kids.  Besides being quite the attractive bunch, they were sweet, engaging, and a complete blast to hang out with.  This group has such a unique family dynamic, it’s as if they’ve passed the stereotypical parent-child roles and respect each other instead as friends.  I loved every minute I got to spend with Norm, Matt, and their family.  Here’s a few of my favorites:
