The summer-like temperatures enticed me to crawl out of my self-inflicted hibernation cave today and make my way over to Assateague for my first beach day of the year (as I type this I realize how ridiculous it sounds to say this in January…come on weather, where’s the snow??).  This may sounds crazy, but this time of year at the beach is my favorite.  Although I have blonde hair and bronze pretty easily, I’m not much of a sun worshipper.  Give me the serene comfort of the off season to the hustling madness of summer at the beach any day. There is just something so beautiful and honest about the beach in it’s natural, non-umbrella-and-beach towel state.  Apparently I wasn’t the only one taking advantage of the peace and quiet either, as I ran in to a few of the natives on the road there.  Some things make you really appreciate the untouched, God-made world…
